A life designed by choice, not by default. I’ve learned that getting there means pushing past challenges, staying creative, and keeping service to others at the heart of everything.
As a teenager, I had a vision to own something of my own. To have independence and be in control of my life. That drive pushed me to try all kinds of entrepreneurial things, like designing a bikini line, launching an online store, and running an eBay business selling baby clothes. I was always searching for ways to innovate and carve out my own space in the world.
By the time I was 21, I found myself drawn to the world of real estate. There were so many opportunities out there. I started as a leasing consultant, moved up to assistant manager, and eventually managed a property with 320 units. I loved the fast pace, the mix of office work and being out in the community, and connecting with diverse people. But even then, I knew I wanted more. I wanted to take my skills and ambition to the next level.
After having my two kids and focusing on them during the early stages of their lives, I was able to focus on my passion for real estate. In 2018, I earned my real estate license and went all in.
From the start, I was determined not to be a statistic. Everyone says 90% of new agents don’t make it, and I was laser-focused on proving them wrong. I did the hard work that most people avoid: door knocking in the Florida heat. I was great with people and knew those face-to-face conversations would help me jumpstart my business. There were a lot of challenges getting started, but I kept learning and refused to give up.
After that first year, things started to click. One deal came after another. I focused on listings, honing my skills and services. As I built up my business, I discovered that I genuinely love the challenge of negotiations and marketing, finding the best solutions for my clients. I also love connecting with people and being of service, which I see as an extension of my faith. I’m always looking to pay it forward and treat people well.
Real estate has given me the freedom and control I always dreamed of, allowing me to shape my life and business around what matters most. It’s given me the opportunity to build generational wealth for my kids, Annelyse and Jax, who are my greatest motivation. Annelyse is ambitious and talented, while Jax is joyful and always making us laugh. My family means everything to me, and I work hard every day to give them a great life.
Having balance between the work I’m passionate about and family time is just as important. My mom showed me the value of being independent and working hard while still prioritizing being present for loved ones. And my spouse, Garvin, has always been a huge supporter of me. We are high school sweethearts, and through every new venture I take on, he has been right there cheering me on.
Outside of work, I love exploring Florida with my family, trying new foods, and spending time with friends. I was a competitive swimmer in high school and taught both my kids to swim by the time they were 2 years old, and now summers are all about pool days and family fun in the water.
Giving back is really important to me too. I support the Alzheimer’s Association, do food drives, and help out through my church community. I am also involved in Toastmasters to keep growing my communication and leadership skills. I’m bilingual in English and Spanish as well, which has enabled me to serve an even wider range of people.
I’m grateful for this journey and all that I’ve learned along the way. Most of all, I’m proud that I’ve been able to design the life of my dreams. In helping people navigate the changes of where they live, I hope to help them shape their own path and step confidently into their next chapter.
